This is the place where you can personalize your profile!
But, how?
By moving, adding and personalizing widgets.
You can drag and drop to rearrange.
You can edit widgets to customize them.
The left side has widgets you can add!
Some widgets you can only access when you get a premium membership.
Some widgets have options that are only available when you get a premium membership.
We've split the page into zones!
Certain widgets can only be added to certain zones.
"Why," you ask? Because we want profile pages to have freedom of customization, but also to have some consistency. This way, when anyone visits a deviant, they know they can always find the art in the top left, and personal info in the top right.
Don't forget, restraints can bring out the creativity in you!
Now go forth and astound us all with your devious profiles!
Watching: The olympics (on an off), Will and Grace
Playing: Soul Calibur 4
I've been a little busy lately with reviews for a website I write for, registering for university and having the power on and off for three days now.
The most important is the middle of those three, I've been accepted to study English literature and Philosophy at the University of Sheffield, and these are the modules that I would love to take (over three years, across both subjects):
LIT104 Shakespeare and Renaissance Drama LIT105 Theatre Practice: Interpreting Texts Phi107 Philosophy of Religion Phi116 Elementary Logic Phi125 Matters of Life and Death Phi128 Philosophy of Art and Literature LIT204 Criticism and Literary Theory LIT207 Restoration and Eighteenth Century Literature LIT208 The Romantic Period LIT213 Magic Realist Fiction LIT219 Creating Poetry - Craft and Imagination LIT225 The Romantic Child LIT234 Renaissance Literature LIT242 The Victorian Utopia PHI205 Descartes and The Empiricists PHI219 Ethics: Theoretical and Practical PHI220 Political Philosophy PHI223 Topics in Ancient Philosophy LIT3015 Writing Fiction LIT3023 Crime and Transgression in Romantic Literature LIT303 Contemporary Literature LIT3033 Dystopias/Utopias LIT304 Criticism and Literary Theory 2 LIT367 Literature of Descent PHI302 Metaphysics PHI320 Pragmatism PHI323 Transcendental Arguments and Scepticism PHI333 Theories of Rights
Of those, some are available in the Autumn, and others in the Spring semester, which I'm expected to divide into four literature and two philosophy modules per year, minus one for every compulsory module, and three in each semester.
I'm really excited, but as you can see, that leaves me with very little choice <.< I'd like to study every module I've listed, so taking the example of the third year, I want to do six literature modules alone (as many as I could do if I was doing a degree in just literature, and had no compulsory modules).
Hopefully the other students or teachers can be relied upon to give me a summary of the modules I have to miss. Then there are other subjects >.<
I don't know what to do in terms of extra-curricular activity or the students union, but that's what the intro week is for.
Taking my PC over to a friend's house for a week to play LAN games (Call of Duty 4 and Warhammer 40:000 Dawn of War expansions mostly), but I haven't even dinted the university's summer reading list >.< fortunately it doesn't seem to be tested in anyway, so I can avoid it for about half a year ... maybe.
And yes, I wrote this journal early in the morning, I spent all night downloading pictures of Persona 3 and Phoenix Wright @_@ Since videogames have come up so much - I've just bought Soul Calibur 4 (after playtesting it at a friend's house) and Nintendo should really make a new Fire Emblem (based on Path of Radiance or not, either way would be fine).
What do I want at the end of my degree? If I can't be liberated from a formal profession through writing, then I'd like to either be a critic or work for the BBFC, but anything creative could also be enjoyable.
